Some dude who got real snarky from behind a keyboard decided to comment on my article on The Most Overused Songs in Movies today. His mail went a little like this:

Date: Thu, 26 May 2005 19:13:58 -0700 (PDT)
From: Dave Rywall
To: fortheretarded@mindspring.com
Subject: KATRINA AND THE WAVES

Dear Mr. Shabby Research Clown:

Katrina is NOT Canadian. We do NOT want her...
The band did sign a record deal with a Canadian label, but that's the extent of their Canadian-ness.

Check this info from Katrina's own website:
http://www.katrinasweb.net/biog.htm

"Katrina Leskanich was born on April 10, 1960 in Topeka, Kansas USA. Her father being a Colonel in the US Air Force, Katrina and her five siblings (four sisters and one brother) were moved from Kansas to New Mexico, to California, to Alabama, to Georgia, to Florida, to Massachusetts, to Nebraska, to Germany, Holland and finally England in 1976 where Katrina has remained."

I decided to humor this fellow and reply, but, just to show exactly how tough Mr. Rywall is, he sent the message from a bogus address. So since Mr. Rywall cannot personally receive mail at the address listed above, I decided just to post my reply here:

Dear Mr. Rywall:

Sorry, but I couldn't really be arsed to put enough effort into Katrina and
the Waves to care if they were really from Canada, Kansas, or Jupiter.

I guess I should have known better. After all, Canada has such a rich
history of great rock music. Chilliwack (smirk.) Bryan Adams (snicker.)
Barenaked Ladies (chuckle.) Loverboy (giggle.) Triumph (snigger.) Glass
Tiger (snort.) Alanis Morissette (chortle.) Men Without Hats (titter.) Rush
(guffaw.) Anne Murray (howl.) Celine Dion (belly laugh.)

Yeah, I can see where I might have been confused.
Thanks for reading!

Hope you enjoyed our little buildup to the Episode Three review this week. Still one more review (at least) of Sith to come; this time it's Justin's take on the film. And while we're on the subject of Star Wars...

Whoops.

Good news, I guess:

http://filmforce.ign.com/spider-man/articles/610/610033p1.html?fromint=1

"Spider-Man helmer Sam Raimi recently spoke with the SCI FI Wire website and revealed that Sony Pictures has plans to make a total of six films in the superhero franchise. Raimi even dropped that he might be willing to direct them all."

I was worried when I heard the third installment would be it for the series, considering how awesome the first two films have been and how many more cool villains there are left for the web-slinger to fight. So with that said, go vote in the new poll. It'll do you right.
